Is Hazard Really Considering Leaving Chelsea?

This is definitely not Chelsea’s season, not yet at least according to Mourinho. The Portuguese boss insists the Blues can still turn it around despite some worrying performances by the Londoners. The club’s latest problem is with their star player, Eden Hazard. Apparently the left winger does not see a bright future ahead of him if he stays with Chelsea. NBC reported that the Belgium international is actually considering a move if he does not manage to overcome his current situation. The 24-year-old was even informed by Mourinho that he will continue as a substitute if he does not start focusing on the team rather than himself but Mourinho did restore Hazard to the starting line-up vs West Ham today but unfortunately Chelsea still went down to a 2-1 defeat with both Matic and Mourinho being sent off.

Hazard’s departure would be a massive loss for Chelsea who have always pictured the winger as next in line to become the world’s best player. Even with a contract that is valid until 2020, no one can really keep the Belgium international from leaving. A player that has lost the joy of stepping on the pitch while wearing the club’s shirt is somewhat weak regardless of his name. All eyes are now on Mourinho who is expected to use his psychological know how and his motivational abilities to revive Hazard. Hopefully things will go better than they did with Falcao who continues not to show any sign of his undeniable brilliance.

Eden Hazard is now valued at £55m and has made 177 appearances for Chelsea. He scored 49 goals and made 50 assists, with most of those statistics being improved last year when he was declared the Premier League’s best player. This year though, he has only made 3 assists and has been struggling to score. His abilities are undeniable but his attitude towards the game looks questionable right now.

Hopefully Chelsea’s next game on Tuesday in the Capital One Cup vs Stoke City will give Hazard a chance to get back to form.
