Is Hazard On His Way To PSG?

Fans lost their cool during the game against PSG after seeing star winger Eden Hazard exchanging shirts with Angel Di Maria during half time. The Belgium international’s poor performance was topped off by an awkward moment many have interpreted as a sign pointing towards Hazard’s departure. Regardless of the lack of efficiency shown this season, you cannot really blame the winger for his dreadful form though. A lot of pressure stood on his shoulders and let`s not forget, it was and still is a lot to take for the 25-year-old. Seen as Chelsea’s next leader, Hazard cannot be accused of lack of trying. He does not lack determination; he just lacks inspiration. Unfortunately for him exchanging shirts with Di Maria did not help.

According to Metro, if all involved parties agree (club, agent, player) upon a departure, the Belgium international is very likely to return to France and where else to go other than PSG? There are not that many clubs in Europe which can afford signing Hazard. PSG is not one of those teams though. Valued at around £52.50m, Hazard’s future is now more in doubt than ever. Even with his contract set to expire in 2020, there is still a chance to see him leave.

Chelsea might have the perfect replacement lined up. Sure, the next manager could use Pedro on the left, Oscar in the middle and Willian on the right but given the club’s recent history, it`s hard to believe no major transfer will go down this summer. Reports point towards Atletico’s Antoine Griezmann who looks ready to take the step to a bigger club. It will be tricky to convince the Frenchman to drop his Champions League spot to join the Premier League. The Blues have little chance of making it to the continental competition and that might be a decisive element in any move prepared for this summer, not only that of Griezmann. The 24-year-old who is one of Simeone’s best players, if not the best. Costing at around the same amount as Hazard, it could be an interesting swap of talent. Not sure what to say though as players like Hazard are really hard to find. Having him around for the next couple of seasons should be a priority. Some good advice and the proper manager will surely help the Belgium pick himself up. Surely, it his form improves, fans will forget all about the whole Di Maria incident.
