Is Cavani’s Move Still Plausible For Chelsea?

Is Cavani's Move Still Plausible For Chelsea?Even with Demba Ba’s transfer Chelsea is still looking to land an important name to deliver the goods as far as scoring goals goes. The transfer market is pretty hot with rumors right now and the following transfer period will witness some of the most impressive moves since Ronaldo went to Madrid. The blues have a pretty solid team that has all the positions covered, all except the one Torres should have made the most out of. He was Chelsea’s first choice for a long series of matches but never managed to return to the form he showed when playing for Liverpool. More than that, the Spanish striker, was one of the most expensive players in the world and signing him was one of Abramovich’s biggest mistakes. With that in mind, the Russian club owner is determined to get the best of the best and currently it doesn’t get any better than Falcao or Edinson Cavani.

Both players will surely make the step to a bigger team next year and Chelsea is looking to sign at least one of those two that combined end up costing over £100 million. This is not the first year in which Cavani has been linked to the Stamford Bridge team that are in desperate need of a world class striker. The 26 year old Uruguayan seems to be a great fit for the Blues’ needs and game style. He has been playing in one of the most difficult championships in the world for quite a while now and he has managed to score 93 goals in 124 matches, which is nothing short of amazing considering he is facing the best defenses in the world as many experts say when referring to Il Calcio.

Chelsea are not alone in what is shaping up to be an epic summer transfer period. City are also looking to replace Balotelli and most likely Tevez and maybe even Dzeko who is also supposed to be very close to wanting to leave. Napoli has set a £60 million buyout clause but that should not be the biggest problem regarding Cavani’s transfer. According to recent statements the Uruguayan is not even considering a transfer and his concentration is 100% directed towards Napoli and Napoli alone. It is going to be hard to convince him that the Premier League is a better place to be, considering the love the player has expressed for the team playing at Stadio San Paolo.
