Inter Ready To Match Chelsea’s Asking Price For Torres!

Spaniard, Fernando Torres has two years left on his current deal after Chelsea signed him from Liverpool in a British transfer record in January 2011. The 29-year-old has failed to live up to his potential, although he has won the Champions League, FA Cup and the Europe League with the London outfit.

His future came into question last month when it was sensationally revealed that Jose Mourinho did not fancy Chelsea winning the title this season because his team lacked a goal scorer.

It seems certain that Chelsea will make a move for a big name striker and the Blues have already been linked with the likes of Diego Costa, Radamel Falcao, Edison Cavani and Mario Balotelli.

However, Chelsea will have to adhere to the Financial Fair Play regulations and they plan to recoup some of the £50 million they paid for Torres back in 2011. According to the Daily Mail, Inter Milan are prepared to meet the £20 million asking price for the former Atletico Madrid captain.

Inter are financially backed by their new owner Erick Thorir and the Italian club have already secured the services of Manchester United defender Nemanja Vidic on a bosman deal. They are looking to rebuild their squad and want Torres to lead the attack from next season.
