“In The Next Days…” Romano Reveals How Chelsea Plan To Secure Signing Of 85M Rated Player

Chelsea will get back in contact with Leicester this week as they look to agree a fee for Wesley Fofana, according to Fabrizio Romano.

The Italian journalist claims that Thomas Tuchel’s side have already had two proposals rejected for the Frenchman but a fresh approach will be made to sign the centre-back:

“They are working on Wesley Fofana, again and again, Leicester rejected two bids, but this week will be week of new contacts between Chelsea and Leicester for Wesley Fofana. The player wants the move, Chelsea are really determined to go for it in the next days and so Fofana is one to watch for this week.”

Leicester are reportedly holding out for a fee in the region of £85m for Fofana, which is an extremely steep figure for a player who has only made 36 appearances in the Premier League.

However, the Foxes feel that they are in a strong position, despite the defender seemingly being keen on a switch to Stamford Bridge.

Fofana only signed a new contract earlier this year so Chelsea will have pay a premium in order to persuade his club into selling the 21-year-old this summer.

Considering how far the Blues were willing to go to secure Marc Cucurella’s signature, you wouldn’t put it past them going all in for Fofana as well.
