‘In The Last Few Hours…’ Report Reveals Chelsea Have Tabled 48.6M Bid For World Cup Winner

Chelsea have had a €55m (£48.6m) offer rejected by Brighton for midfielder Alexis Mac Allister, according to Tuttomercatoweb.com.

In an article that was posted on Tuesday evening, the Italian website reported that the Blues submitted the bid “in the last few hours” for the World Cup winner, only for it to be turned down by the Seagulls.

Mac Allister is just one of a number of midfield options that Graham Potter’s side have considered targeting during the January transfer window.

Benfica’s Enzo Fernandez, Everton’s Amadou Onana, Southampton’s Romeo Lavia and Mac Allister’s teammate Moises Caicedo have all been mentioned as potential candidates.

However, it appears Chelsea may have to settle on recruiting a short-term option on loan. Barcelona’s Franck Kessie could be targeted, while the Blues may even look to make another approach for Tottenham’s Yves Bissouma after having an enquiry knocked back for Potter’s former player earlier this month.
