‘I’m On My Knees!’ ‘Too Good To Be True’ Fans Excited By Reports That Chelsea Have Set Their Sights On Bundesliga Ace

Chelsea are weighing up a bid for Bayer Leverkusen attacking midfielder Kai Havertz, according to reports in the English media.

The Blues are believed to have cooled their interest in Barcelona’s Philippe Coutinho and have set their sights on the German international instead.

Fans on Twitter are excited that the club are considering a move for Havertz, although some doubt whether he is a realistic target:

Chelsea are said to be looking at the 20-year-old, both due to his age and his ability to play in a number of positions.

Havertz can play as a no.10, out wide or as a false nine, and that flexibility is said to be a massive plus point with manager Frank Lampard keen to have as many options as possible.

However, the German will likely cost a lot of money. Leverkusen were said to be demanding €100m (£87m) before the recent economic downturn. The likes of Bayern Munich, Liverpool, Manchester United and Manchester City are also said to be interested in the player.
