With Real Madrid captain Sergio Ramos having confirmed that he will be leaving the Bernabeu at the end of this month, there has been some speculation that the World Cup winner could make the switch to the Premier League.
At the time of writing, Manchester United, Manchester City, Paris Saint-Germain and Sevilla have all been suggested as potential destinations. Chelsea, though, have not been mentioned so far but that hasn’t stopped fans on Twitter discussing whether the Blues should make a move for the Spanish veteran:
I'd take him at Chelsea, considering Varane isn't leaving

Tbh I feel he is perhaps past it for us. Besides we have leaders already in Silva & Azpi. Who would he replace/rotate with? We’ve good young prospects ie Guehi, Sarr & Xavier. Also Christensen, Zouma & Rudi each with a different skills set. So do we really need Ramos? #ChelseaFC

I’d take him at chelsea. One of the best defenders in the last decade. So much our defense could learn from him

I am not bothered

While manager Thomas Tuchel is believed to be keen on adding another centre-back to his ranks next season, there are quite a few reasons why he’ll probably not consider going after Ramos.
The Spaniard is now 35 years of age, and with Thiago Silva (36) already in the squad, there really isn’t room for another centre-half nearing the end of their career.
Ramos has also had his fair share of injury problems over the past 12 months (he only managed 21 appearances last campaign), and combined with his high salary demands, making an offer doesn’t seem at all worthwhile.
