‘I Hope Is Agent Is Cooking Something’ ‘He Earns 272K A Week, He Won’t Be Leaving’ Fans Discuss Chelsea Striker’s Future

Chelsea forward Timo Werner was non-committal when asked whether he is happy to stay at the club this summer.

There have been reports suggesting that the Blues would be willing to let the German leave Stamford Bridge if a suitable bid came in, but there have been no signs that the player is close to sealing his exit. When the topic came up in an interview, Werner didn’t want to provide a definitive answer on whether he would be leaving or staying:

“It is hard to say. First of all, the most important thing is that I am happy. I am happy when I play and score goals. That’s the fact. That’s what I should take care of and the other things will come.”

The lack of interest is probably the main reason Werner was being somewhat aloof. His sky-high wages are believed to be the main issue, and fans on Twitter are not particularly hopeful that the striker will find another team before the transfer window closes:

It’s not as though Chelsea are blessed with plenty of forward options anyway, especially after Romelu Lukaku’s departure. Yet, unless he starts the season in blistering form, it’s looking very likely that Werner will be playing a bit-part role from the bench once again.
