Tottenham may try to snap up Chelsea winger Willian on a free transfer at the end of the season, according to the Evening Standard.
The Brazilian international’s contract expires in the summer and the 31-year-old is demanding a two-year extension which the Blues are said to be reluctant to give him. They have reportedly offered a new one-year deal in line with their policy for players over 30.
Supporters on Twitter have been debating whether Willian would accept a move to Spurs:
willian likes josé so i can see it happening

Reads like a story placed by his agent thinking “what’s the most likely to annoy Chelsea supporters”. Clever

I know Willian likes José and all, but I honestly dont know that hes going to go to a lesser club to compete for game time when he is such a figurehead of the chelsea team. I’ve been wrong before but I’ll be extremely surprised to see this happen. For so many more reasons too

Let’s see if Willian knows what the world loyalty means! His pal David Luiz doesn’t!

He’ll sign an extension at CFC. This is Mou trying to unsettle him. I don’t think it will work.

But he hates Tottenham ?

Tottenham manager Jose Mourinho is a keen admirer of the Brazilian. The Portuguese brought him to Stamford Bridge and was also looking to sign him when he was at Manchester United.
However, Willian and Spurs are not on the best of terms after the winger snubbed the club before signing for Chelsea in 2013, and it would be a highly controversial transfer if he did decide to move across London.
