Hudson Odoi And Mount To Start, Pulisic Dropped: Chelsea’s Predicted XI To Face Watford

Chelsea manager Frank Lampard would have been disappointed with the result more than the performance against Manchester United midweek. However, games come thick and fast this time of year and there will be little time to dwell on being knocked out of the cup.

They face Watford in the league tomorrow, but despite only having a few days gap between matches, it’s unlikely that the Blues will make many changes because of the club’s injury situation.

Antonio Rudiger has declared himself fit, but he’ll probably only make the bench tomorrow with Fikayo Tomori and Kurt Zouma lining up in the centre of defence. Captain Cesar Azpilicueta and Marcos Alonso will fulfil the fullback roles.

In midfield, Mason Mount will almost certainly come back into the side, with Jorginho and Mateo Kovacic continuing to start in the absence of N’Golo Kante.

Despite getting a hat-trick last weekend, Christian Pulisic was disappointing versus United and he will need to work on his consistency. Callum Hudson-Odoi could be selected to start on his favoured side, with Willian back on the right.

Tammy Abraham is in line to start up front, despite Michy Batshuayi getting on the scoresheet with a sublime solo effort on Wednesday night.

Chelsea’s Predicted XI To Face Watford:

Kepa, Azpilicueta, Zouma, Tomori, Alonso, Mount, Jorginho, Kovacic, Willian, Abraham, Hudson-Odoi
