Hiddink Agrees To First Chelsea Transfer Of 2016

There is a lot of speculation surrounding Chelsea right now, mostly regarding the way the team is going to look after the transfer period. Even though Hiddink is an interim manager, he might still have instructions regarding what should Chelsea look like when the new coach manages. There is no certainty regarding the Blues’ future manager, but one thing is for sure: it would be a lot easier for that person if he took over a lot who spent at least a season or two together. The biggest names linked to Chelsea are Pep Guardiola and Diego Simeone. The two are under contract though and even if they would agree on a deal with Chelsea, they would not announce such a thing. It would be really awkward to have Guardiola face Chelsea in the Champions League knowing he will be managing the Londoners starting with June or July.

Looking at current speculation regarding Chelsea’s manager, there is some interesting news going around these days. According to Metro, Hiddink is ready to reunite Willian with former Shakhtar teammate Alex Teixeira. The 25-year-old is ready to leave the Ukraine despite the fact that his contract expires in 2018. The tension in that area has had a big impact on the team which is not able to play on its home ground and always live in fear. Shakhtar manager Mircea Lucescu also mentioned that Teixeira is ready to leave, with the destination being the only unknown element of his future.

If what Metro are saying and Chelsea did reach a verbal agreement with Teixeira, fans should be excited. This attacking midfielder has managed to average a goal per game. What is more impressive is that he did that in 26 games, games in which he also provided 5 assists. He would be of massive help for Chelsea’s attack who struggle and fail to find solutions to increase their scoring rate. Falcao and Remy are rumored to leave this winter which makes Teixeira’s arrival even more plausible. Hopefully he will join the Londoners and continue his incredible form.
