Chelsea fans have slammed defender Andreas Christensen after his woeful performance in the 3-1 defeat to Tottenham yesterday afternoon.
Antonio Conte’s side’s hopes of a top four finish were all but extinguished by Spurs, who won at Stamford Bridge for the first time in 28 years.
The hosts took the lead on the half-hour mark thanks to a trademark Alvaro Morata header, however went into half-time with the scores level thanks to a Christian Eriksen belter just before the break.
The Dane’s strike swung the momentum firmly in the visitors favour, and Dele Alli made 2-1 on 62 minutes with a fine touch and finish from Eric Dier’s lofted through ball after breaking free from Andreas Christensen.
Alli then completed the scoring four minutes later when he capitalised on some poor defending from Christensen again, who failed to clear the ball from his own box following Willy Caballero’s save.
The defeat leaves Chelsea eight points adrift of fourth placed Spurs with only seven games to play, and ends their hopes of playing Champions League football next season.

When people wonder why Chelsea managers will so often lean towards experience over youth they need just look at Christensen's costly past 6 weeks for the answer. Christensen will learn from this and have a fine career but Conte won't be around to reap the rewards for his loyalty.
