Chelsea’s defending left a lot to be desired in the 3-1 defeat against Everton yesterday and one of the main culprits was Andreas Christensen, who did not deal well with the physicality of Dominic Calvert-Lewin.
The Dane’s inclusion ahead of Fikayo Tomori in recent matches has been a surprise, and many supporters on Twitter think it is now time for manager Frank Lampard to drop the 23-year-old:
He should move to the Bundesliga

Need Rudiger back to replace AC

And that’s KEY to have in any defender. I don’t know why he hasn’t ever hit the gym at all.

He isn’t good enough for me, tomori is his superior by far

He is so weak

His challenges are too soft.

Hes not cut up for the PL, decent CB but not physical enough for this league

Neither Christensen nor Kurt Zouma covered themselves in glory for Everton’s goals. They were bullied and failed to clear the lines when required.
Lampard will probably turn to Antonio Rudiger, who is now fit after recovering from a groin strain, but it will be interesting to see whether Christensen is the man to make way.
The Danish international has been the least convincing of Chelsea’s centre-backs this campaign, and although injuries have hampered his season, there can be no excuses for his performance at Goodison Park.
