Chelsea defender David Luiz is poised to sign for Arsenal after an £8m fee was agreed between the two clubs, according to reports. The Brazilian has decided that he wants to switch to the London rivals in order to get more first-team football.

It seems that manager Frank Lampard’s decision to omit Luiz from the starting line up against Borussia Monchengladbach last weekend led to the 32-year-old wanting out of Stamford Bridge.
The Brazilian was worried he would not be a regular starter, reportedly leading to Lampard to remove him from the first-team squad following a number of incidents in training this week.
It is now believed that Chelsea will head into the season with Andreas Christensen and Kurt Zouma as the first-choice centre-back partnership, at least until Antonio Rudiger returns from injury.
