Hazard set to replace Ronaldo at Real Madrid

Chelsea star Eden Hazard could be on the way to Real Madrid this summer if Cristiano Ronaldo makes his £88m move to Juventus.

The Belgian has been heavily linked with a move away from Stamford Bridge this summer, and is said to be open to the prospect of leaving – especially if Antonio Conte remains as manager.

Hazard has previously admitted that he dreams about a move to Madrid, despite the departure of Zidane as manager ho he labelled ‘special’.

“Does Real make me dream less without Zidane?” he said when asked about the Frenchman’s exit.

“Zidane is someone special it’s true, but I think Real is everyone’s dream.

“Zidane or no Zidane, the white jersey [of Real] is special but the blue jersey suits me well so it does not bother me if I stay.

“For now, it’s the World Cup. As I have said at least 100 times, I am in Chelsea and for the moment nobody has made me an offer.”

The forward also added fuel to the fire by admitting Real Madrid interests him, and seemingly hinting that he his time at the Blues has run its course.

“I don’t want to speak about transfers now. I have been asked so many times about that. I am focused on the World Cup,” he said, before Belgium’s campaign got underway.

“But as I have already said, I have won everything in London outside the Champions League. If I am here in my career, it is thanks to Chelsea.

“It would be too easy to say: I want to leave because I have done everything. It is for that before everything that I would really like to know what will happen at the club next year.

“I am waiting to see if the club stays or goes. If I stay, it will be because the team will be better than the season we have just experienced.

“I do not want to stay if we are less good. Real Madrid can interest me, everyone knows that.

“But if tomorrow this club does not want me, we will no longer speak about it. If they want to buy me they know what they have to do.

“It is necessary to have a project. I still have a project at Chelsea.

“If I have a beautiful World Cup, things will be easier.”
