Hazard May Have Delivered A Subtle Hint About His Chelsea Future During Kit Launch

Chelsea midfielder Eden Hazard says his ambition is to play for the Blues in the Champions League once again after the launch of the new home kit.

Speaking about the future, the Belgian said he believes the London club will return to play in Europe’s top club competition:

“Chelsea has to play in the Champions League every year. It’s one of the biggest clubs in the world, and for myself also I want to play in the Champions League – and we will.”

The fact that Hazard says “we” instead of “they” when mentioning Chelsea may suggest he wants to continue playing at Stamford Bridge.

However, that may be reading too much into things. The 28-year-old has just a year left on his contract with the Blues and has been heavily linked with a switch to Real Madrid.

Chelsea’s decision to choose Hazard to lead their new kit promotion may be wishful thinking on the club’s part thinking that he’ll stay, or perhaps there is more to it than that.

Whatever happens, though, fans of the club are truly appreciative of what the Belgian international has contributed to the team during his seven-year stay. Whether he’ll extend his time with the Blues, we shall see.
