Hazard Explains Why It’s “Good” Chelsea Are In The Shadow Of Title Challengers

Chelsea playmaker Eden Hazard believes the Blues can mount a title challenge this season, and go head to head with the likes of Manchester City, Tottenham and Liverpool.

The midfielder was on top form in the 2-0 victory against Bournemouth at the weekend, and he thinks the club can continue to rack up the three points while the focus is on their rivals. He was quoted by the Evening Standard as saying:

“We are a little bit in the shadow. That is good. We just try to do our job, win games and then we will see. Of course, I believe we can challenge, especially in the Premier League, as you never know what is going to happen.”

“We want to be champions, even if we know it is going to be hard because City, Liverpool and Tottenham are very strong. We will see at the end but we want to be on the top.”

Chelsea have a 100% record heading into the international break, only behind Liverpool in the table on goal difference after four wins from four.

Hazard’s form will certainly raise hopes among the fans that they can turn around last season’s disappointing fifth-place finish with another title shot.

With two goals and two assists from his first four matches, he certainly looks in the mood. The Belgian knows himself that if this team is going to challenge, he’ll need to be at his best:

“I hope it will be a big season for the team. I know if I play good, the team plays good, so I need to be ready for everything.”

The Blues face Cardiff next at Stamford Bridge in just under two weeks’ time.
