Hazard Dreams Big Under Jose

Eden Hazard had revealed his ambitions of scoring 50 or 60 goals next season just like Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi, as Jose Mourinho’s arrival is tipped as just the right thing to ensure Hazard reaches his full potential.

Mourinho’s arrival at Stamford Bridge has been the topic of discussion for most of the media, but what they may have missed out, is the impact of the coach on Chelsea’s current crop of young talents. Hazard is such a unique talent in the squad!

The 22-year old owes much of his development to French side Lille, where the attacker joined in 2005 as a youth academy player. With the Lille officials realizing Hazard’s unique talent, they offered him his first professional contract, which was readily accepted by the player in 2007. He played 147 matches for the senior team, scoring 36 goals.

The Belgian was one of the most talked about players before last season, when he had the difficult choice of picking one club from Chelsea, Manchester United and Manchester City. Roman Abramovich’s astute negotiation skills proved worthy again, as the attacking winger did not hesitate to declare Stamford Bridge as his destination.

The reason for the best clubs in the world wanting the player was his burst of pace, combined with exquisite skill on the ball, and excellent finishing ability in his locker.

Except for the height, a similar skill-set belongs to none other than Ronaldo, who played some of the best seasons of his career under Mourinho. The manager used Ronaldo’s skills best at Real Madrid, and could communicate well with the winger-turned-striker.

Hazard realized that Mourinho’s arrival at the Bridge would give him a similar chance to excel under a manager who knew how to get the best out of his players. With other talented players like Juan Mata, Frank Lampard and Ramirez in support, Hazard has the team-mates he needs to get the best out of himself.

According to the Metro, Hazard has spoken about next season under Mourinho, and how he aimed to score more than 50 goals for the season like Ronaldo.

Hazard said, “My dream is 50 or even 60 goals like Lionel Messi and Ronaldo.”

“They have shown it is possible, so I can do the same.”

“I had a lot of assists last season and a few goals, but the problem is that I tend to choose the beautiful option too often and dribble with the ball, when a different way would cause most damage.”

“Every year, I am improving and getting better and better, but I want to be even more effective.”

“He’s a mystical coach, who is always being talked about. It will be a pleasure to have a coach like him.”

“Everybody says it will be a very good thing for me.”
