Hazard commits future to Chelsea amidst Real Madrid links

Eden Hazard says he has no plans to leave Chelsea this summer amidst speculation of a world record transfer to Real Madrid.

The Belgian playmaker has been heavily linked with Madrid over the past few months, with Los Blancos reportedly keen to land the 27-year-old as a replacement for Gareth Bale – who is widely expected to leave the Bernabeu this summer.

And with Chelsea on the verge of not qualifying for the Champions League for the second time in three seasons, Blues fans were worried their star man may move to Spain in order to fulfil his European ambitions.

Hazard however has put to bed any speculation he will leave South West London this summer, insisting he remains very much happy at Stamford Bridge.

“I hope [the fans] don’t want to see me leave,” Hazard told SFR Sport.

“I’m doing good things here. I’m happy here. Things can move, or they may not move. We’ll see.

“The public adore me, I love my teammates, my family are good here.”

Antonio Conte’s side currently remain two points off the top four with only two games remaining, and hence rely on results elsewhere going in their favour if they are to steal a Champions League qualification spot at the last minute.

Yet while football in Europe’s elite competition matters to Hazard, the Belgium international says it isn’t all that matters.

“Of course I want to play in the Champions League, but it isn’t a priority.”
