TV presenter Gary Lineker has praised Chelsea manager Frank Lampard for the tactics he employed in the 2-0 win against Tottenham yesterday.
The away side were in control of the game for the majority of the 90 minutes, and taking to Twitter after the game, Lineker credited Lampard for overcoming his former mentor Jose Mourinho:
If it hadn’t already, Frank Lampard’s managerial career has come of age. Tactical masterclass from the apprentice.

Lampard’s decision to go with a 3-4-3 was certainly a big surprise, considering the Blues have mostly played 4-3-3 this campaign but the gamble certainly paid off.
Spurs were unable to lay a glove on their opponents for the majority of the match, with Chelsea pushing high up the pitch and winning the ball back early.
The home team were unable to get the likes of Harry Kane, Dele Alli or Lucas Moura into the game, and Lampard’s side could have easily scored more than two goals on the day.
Fans will be hoping that they can continue playing on the same level when they face Southampton at home next up.
