Chelsea manager Thomas Tuchel‘s first game in charge may have ended in a drab 0-0 draw against Wolves last night but he would have learned a thing or two about the players who featured in the match.
Callum Hudson-Odoi was asked to start in an unfamiliar right wing-back role as Tuchel employed a 3-4-3 formation, but the 20-year-old showed that he is willing to adapt his game to the new position. Fans on Twitter praised the England international for his performance after the match:
Great performance. Defensive contribution at the end, too. 100% MOTM.

There are some idiots that genuinely believe he is better off the bench. Madness I know but yeah ?

One manager put him on a leash when starting…one manager let him be himself all game.

Hudson-Odoi was given a lot of instruction by Tuchel during the 90 minutes, as he was asked to overlap constantly with Hakim Ziyech. Pulisic’s introduction meant he then played in a more familiar role on the left-wing and continued to perform well.
It will be interesting to see how much game time he is given by Tuchel given previous coach Frank Lampard rarely started him in league matches.
