Chelsea could have both goalkeeper Edouard Mendy and winger Hakim Ziyech available for selection when they play Southampton on Saturday.
Mendy has been undergoing treatment at Cobham after returning injured from international duty with Senegal. It was originally thought he would need longer to recover from the thigh injury he sustained.
Ziyech has yet to make his competitive debut due to a knee problem he picked up in preseason but the Blues did allow him to play for Morocco in their friendly versus Senegal on Friday in order to help improve his match fitness. With both players now said to be on the mend, fans on Twitter are delighted with the news:

Ziyech a game-changer in this squad. His passing will unlock so much of our play. Now just to get more chemistry with Havertz and defenses will be cooked

? Ziyech more likely to start against Sevilla on Tuesday night. Can see Frank rotating a little to keep players fresh and sharp, particularly as we are playing United the following Saturday.

It’s likely to Ziyech will only be ready to make the bench as he has yet to play a full 90 minutes this season. If Mendy comes through a late fitness test, manager Frank Lampard will have no qualms about putting him straight back into the starting eleven this weekend.
