Chelsea have rejected Barcelona’s offer for winger Willian, according to multiple reports in the UK.
The Catalan club reportedly offered cash plus 21-year-old winger Malcom in a deal valued at £50m, but the Blues turned down the proposal as they feel he is worth a lot more.
Fans on Twitter were very much split over whether rejecting Barca’s bid was the right decision:

Bad Decision in my opinion, Chelsea Board should’ve taken this deal with their eyes closed. No thinking with this one. Malcom, Young. Full of potential whilst Willian is a class player but reaching the last few years of his playing career. To top it off + 50m

Accept the deal he is past it and we get a much younger player in return as well as a good sum of money before it’s too late to change you mind

There’s no doubt that Willian is an integral player for manager Maurizio Sarri. The Italian has picked the 30-year-old to start on 26 occasions already this campaign, playing him in 31 matches in total.
The Brazilian international signed for £30m from Anzhi Makhachkala five and a half years ago and has been a regular first team player throughout his time at Stamford Bridge. There had been talk of him leaving for the last two summers with Manchester United reportedly interested but the winger stayed put.
Despite hitting 30, though, it seems Barcelona are very keen to recruit Willian. Whether they’ll up their bid for the Brazilian international, it remains to be seen.
