‘Give him 500k a week’ ‘Very Upset Right Now’ – Chelsea Fans React As Hazard Admits To Dilemma Over His Future

Chelsea playmaker Eden Hazard says he is torn between staying at the club and wanting to leave to play for Real Madrid.

Speaking after the Blues’ convincing 3-0 win against Southampton at the weekend, the Belgian international said:

“I don’t want to say: ‘Yes, I am signing a new contract’ and then, in the end, I don’t end up signing. So I will see. Sometimes in my head, I wake up in the morning and think I want to go. Sometimes I think I want to stay. It is a hard decision. It is my future. I am 27 and I will turn 28 in January.”

“That’s why I spoke after the World Cup and I said that I think it is time to change because I played a great World Cup. I am really in the game, I am playing good football at the moment. Real Madrid is the best club in the world. I don’t want to lie today.”

Fans on Twitter are not certain that Hazard will stay and sign a new contract:

The midfielder has been in excellent form so far this season, scoring eight goals and providing three assists in ten matches.

Hazard looks set to better his best ever scoring season for Chelsea, but doubts over his future remain. His current deal expires in 2020 but so far there has been little progress on extending his stay at Stamford Bridge.

Reports in Spain suggest that the Belgian’s comments are designed to soften the blow and prepare supporters when he decides to leave for Madrid in January.

However, it appears Chelsea will do everything in their power to convince Hazard to stay and sign on the dotted line.
