Giroud keeps by hair promise after World Cup win

Olivier Giroud has stayed to true to the promise that he would shave his head if France were to win the World Cup.

Prior to this summer’s tournament, a number of France’s players made wacky forfeits should they go all the way in Russia – with Giroud’s being to shave off the locks for which he is so well known.

Nabil Fekir and Hugo Lloris are set to also shave their hair, while Blaise Matuidi will cycle from Paris to Turin.

And following France’s 4-2 victory over Croatia in the World Cup final, Giroud has not been allowed to forget his promise – with one reporter even pulling clippers on him at a recent press conference.

A man of his word however, Giroud has bitten the bullet and kept his promise, with the Frenchman saying his wife gave him a little encouragement to do it after the christening of their son at the weekend.

Still looking good, Olivier. Let’s not hope his hair was the source of all his powers however …
