Gianluca Di Marzio Explains Why Lukaku’s Move To Chelsea Could See Abraham Leaving For Italy

Chelsea striker Tammy Abraham could be sold to Atalanta before the summer transfer window closes, according to Gianluca Di Marzio.

The very reliable Italian journalist suggests that Romelu Lukaku’s potential return to Stamford Bridge could lead to a domino effect.

Inter are targeting Atalanta’s Duvan Zapata as Lukaku’s replacement but Gian Piero Gasperini’s side are reluctant to lose their top goalscorer and would need to find the Colombian’s successor before offloading him.

That is where, Di Marzio claims, Abraham would fit into things. Whether the 23-year-old would be open to moving to Atalanta, though, it remains to be seen.

Reports suggest that the England international would prefer a switch to Arsenal, but the Gunners need to sell either Eddie Nketiah or Alexandre Lacazette to raise the funds necessary for the striker.

Abraham’s other potential suitors are West Ham and Aston Villa, with the latter expected to have a sizeable transfer kitty when Jack Grealish’s £100m move to Manchester City is confirmed.
