FPL: Three Chelsea Players To AVOID In Your Fantasy Football Premier League Team 2023/24

Hakim Ziyech warming up for Chelsea.

With the 2023/24 Premier League season on the horizon, FPL players are looking to make their squads as strong as possible – here are three Chelsea players you’ll want to avoid.

Previously, we have done the inverse of this list – check out our piece on three Chelsea players that would be brilliant additions to any fantasy football team.

All stats and figures have been taken from the official Premier League website’s fantasy football game, including points tallies and prices.

In this list, we’ll be featuring a goalkeeper, a midfielder and a striker from Chelsea. Before we begin, can you guess who they are?

Kepa Arrizabalaga

First up on our list is Kepa Arrizabalaga. When he joined the Blues’ setup for a then-record breaking fee, he came in with plenty of promise, but has yet to live up to the hype.

With the departure of Edouard Mendy in the summer transfer window, Kepa looks set to become the Blues’ first-choice goalkeeper once again – but we feel there are simply better options out there.

Moreover, for a goalkeeper, Kepa is somewhat on the expensive side this year in fantasy football. He will cost you a total of £5.0 on the official Premier League website.

Mykhailo Mudryk

Here is an entry that should come as no surprise to anyone – for all of Mykhailo Mudryk’s talents, he has underwhelmed in a Blues shirt thus far.

He’s very fast and possesses excellent ability on the ball, but he isn’t quite where he needs to be on a physical or mental level to be a success in the Premier League as of yet.

Last season, Mudryk failed to score a goal in the league – as such, his relatively high price of £6.5 on FPL is a bit of a mystery.

Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang

It simply hasn’t worked out for Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang at Chelsea. Once a legendary striker, his electric pace has begun to dwindle in the latter stages of his career – robbing him of his greatest attribute.

It’s unclear how much he will factor into Mauricio Pochettino’s plans as things stand, but with strikers such as Christopher Nkunku and Nicolas Jackson joining the club, it’s likely that he could become a peripheral figure.

Moreover, with an FPL price of £6.5, he is far too expensive to consider adding to your team – especially when his limited output is considered.
