Four Transfers Chelsea Are Linked With

Some very exciting rumors have made the news these days. Things seem to be moving well on the transfer market with clubs like PSG, Napoli and Juventus already making important transfers. Players no longer feel the need to make decisions in the summer and prices seem to be pretty decent as there are a lot of quality footballers available to buy. Chelsea have all the resources to make themselves stronger and continue their impeccable Premier League run. It would be the perfect time to sign someone new as half a season would be more than enough to get them prepared for next season’s Champions League and Premier League.

Out of all the rumours making the news these days, one stands out. It is that regarding Vidal’s desire to work with Conte again. The two were part of the same team back in the day when the Italian boss managed Juventus. The Chilean midfielder next to Kante and Matic would probably ruin any attacking attempt from any opponent and would also contribute to Chelsea’s efficiency up front. Vidal’s contract with Bayern expires in 2019 and he will be turning 30 in May 2017 which means this would be the perfect time to leave. It would also be good timing for Chelsea who are known for having an age-related policy when it comes to transfers. If Vidal does go over 30 it is unlikely to see him at Stamford Bridge.

According to Metro, Conte is keen on working with another one of his former players. Swansea’s Fernando Llorente is on Chelsea’s shortlist and might become the Blues’ third option up front. Batshuayi is staying put but even so, Chelsea would get a lot out of a player like the Spaniard who is perfect as a late game goal option.

The other two on the transfer list would complete Chelsea’s defense and would probably do a wonderful job if signed by Conte. First there’s Wolfsburg’s £21m left back Ricardo Rodriguez who Chelsea have been linked to in the past. The Swiss international is one of the best full-backs in the world and would be excellent competition for Marcos Alonso or even Azpilicueta. He is worth the money and the effort and out of the entire list of possible transfers, he would be the best choice next to Vidal. Secondly there’s Southampton’s most promising player, Virgil van Dijk. The 25-year-old would represent an alternative for the future and could play back-up for Cahill as he has a similar style. He would be the toughest to sign though as he extended his contract until 2022 back in May 2016.  Playing in the Champions League plus a big offer from Chelsea might help negotiations even though it is hard to believe anything will happen this January.
