Chelsea defender Wesley Fofana has not travelled with the squad for the club’s pre-season tour due to a knee injury.

It is not clear (at the time of writing) whether the Frenchman’s latest fitness setback is serious or not but journalist Fabrizio Romano has already said that the Blues are considering buying another centre-back.

With Benoit Badiashile also sidelined for the start of the season, manager Mauricio Pochettino may be left with only three options for the centre of defence.
