Four Moves Chelsea Might Be Chasing At Season’s End

There are a lot of changes that will go down probably by the end of June. Why the end of June? Because if a new manager comes and the Premier League starts in July or August, there will be little time for the new transfers to be integrated within the group. Signing pre-contracts is definitely a possibility but that still does not mean the newcomers will be available earlier than the end of the 2015-2016 Premier League. There are two possibilities when it comes to seeing new players at Stamford Bridge. Chelsea will most likely invest but will also call back some of the several players sent out on loan. The club has the most footballers out on loan in Europe and some of them might really get a chance to play for the Blues. Here are 4 moves that could go down by the end of June and the actual probability that they will be finalized in the beginning of the summer.

  1. Riyad Mahrez – 50% chance – Definitely one of the Premier League’s top targets, Mahrez has been linked to Chelsea this January. It was very clear that he would not leave Leicester until the end of the season. He has a big chance of becoming part of Premier League history and he also has a chance to increase his market value. Why such a small chance of seeing him at Stamford Bridge? Leicester started negotiations to increase his salary. There’s also the unknown trajectory of his current club. Will they sell or will they invest more and try repeating the unexpected performances of this season?
  2. John Stones – 70% chance – Despite signing Matt Miazga, Chelsea will probably follow up on the John Stones lead. Zouma is out and there are no updates on JT’s situation. That means that the Blues could start next season with just two central defenders who are Premier League material. According to the Daily Express, Stones would be a perfect fit and is seen by most as the one to replace Terry.
  3. Odion Ighalo – 50% – Watford’s top striker could be the perfect replacement for Remy and Falcao. Remy is already in negotiations with a club from China and Falcao is definitely not going to receive a permanent deal. Ighalo has declined a spectacular offer from China as well and explained his choice by saying he wants to make a name for himself in the Premier League. Chelsea would be the place for him to shine.
  4. Alexandre Lacazette – 40% – He looks like the kind of player Chelsea would sign. Unfortunately, his latest season was not that brilliant. He dropped in value and he looks like he has two options – he can either continue with Lyon where he is not in the best relations with the management or he could come to Stamford Bridge and go at it with Costa for a place in the starting eleven. He would make a good addition to the lot.
