Former Blue looking forward to FA Cup final reunion

Ex-Chelsea star Juan Mata says he is looking forward to facing his former club in the FA Cup final next month.

Mata was an un-used substitute for Manchester United’s 2-1 semi-final victory over Tottenham Hotspur, in which goals from Alexis Sanchez and Ander Herrera booked the Red Devil’s ticket to Wembley.

United will face Chelsea in the final after the Blues swept aside Southampton 2-0 in the other semi-final at the weekend.

And Mata, who spent two-and-a-half seasons with Chelsea between 2011 and 2014, says he can’t wait for what will be a special occasion against his old club.

First reflecting on the weekend’s win over Tottenham, the Spaniard said: “Last Saturday was strangely warm for April, and I saw the trouble that the high temperatures caused in the London Marathon the following day.

Juan Mata On How To Become A Strong Team

“Spurs are always a tough opponent. They are a compact team, with a well-defined football style and very talented players.

“And they scored first, but we were determined to fight for this title until the end and we came back with goals from Alexis and Ander.

“We will be back to Wembley in a month, this time against Chelsea, which makes the final even more special for me.”
