Five Moves That Could Fund 2 Stellar Transfers

There are two big names linked to Chelsea, two names that could bring salvation for the Blues who have hit some genuinely rocky form of late. First there’s Antoine Griezmann who according to Metro, is number one on Mourinho’s list. He is one of the most in-form forwards on the market and could easily take on the attributes Hazard had back in the days when he was the club’s top scorer. Griezmann is also brilliant up front which means he can also replace Costa whose poor form and confrontational attitude have made him a bit of a disappointment. Secondly, there is Gonzalo Higuain. The Argentinian is in brilliant form and has always been a clinical striker, a striker who makes the most out of even the smallest of chances. The two would probably cost Chelsea around £50-60million, money which need to be balanced out by the end of the season according to FIFA’s Financial Fair Play Regulations. Here is a list of transfers that could raise the money for both of the two attackers:

  1. Juan Cuadrado – he is probably the most expensive player Chelsea are considering of selling right now. He is valued at about £18million which is almost a quarter of what The Blues need.
  2. Mohamed Salah – he is already accounted for by Roma who will trigger the transfer option at the end of the summer. He is going to bring in around £10million. That should be enough to cover one of the two strikers mentioned above.
  3. Victor Moses – the winger who is on loan with West Ham has been looking for a while now to settle somewhere. He could bring about £5million to Chelsea’s budget.
  4. Branislav Ivanovic – the defender who is going to run out of contract soon is 31 and will not get an extension that surpasses one year in length. With that in mind he could be leaving in January for around £15million which brings the total to about £45million.
  5. Pedro – the Spaniard is unhappy with the way things are going at Chelsea and has had trouble acclimatising to the Premier League. He is worth around £20million which would be enough to allow the Blues to spend big on one of the two.

All transfers are hypothetical as it is very hard to tell what is going on at Stamford Bridge. The players are trying hard but just not getting results, Mourinho is frustrated naturally and not too much seems to be going well. Bringing in some world-class players could help improve things a little.
