‘Final Details’ Agreed For Chelsea’s Sixth Summer Signing With Medical Expected On Saturday

Chelsea and Bayer Leverkusen have come to an agreement on the “final details” of Kai Havertz’s move to Stamford Bridge, according to Sky in Germany.

A fee has previously been negotiated, which includes a payment of €80m (£71m) upfront, with another €20m (£18m) in performance-related bonuses, but it appears that the rest of the paperwork has now been completed so the transfer can go ahead.

However, Sky do contradict reports from other sources that Havertz has already completed a medical. They say this is likely to happen on Saturday if the player can get approval from the German national team to go through with the checks.

It means the official announcement of Chelsea’s sixth summer recruit won’t come before the weekend. Many supporters have been keenly awaiting confirmation of the club record signing but despite journalists having stated that personal terms were agreed over a month ago, the Blues have had to work hard to seal an agreement with Leverkusen.
