Filipe Luis To Follow Diego Costa To Chelsea

Chelsea are bringing in some serious star quality players to cover all their weak spots. After Diego Costa, Atletico’s Filipe Luis is next in line to join Mourinho’s team. The Brazilian will have to do things the hard way apparently as his club does not look willing to allow the left-back to leave. According to the Daily Express, the 28 year old who has been playing for Atletico since 2010, has refused contract renewal talks in order to encourage the Spanish side to let him leave.

Despite having a great season with his current team, Luis is looking for a considerable increase in salary which can only be achieved by joining a financially potent club such as Chelsea. Luis is set to replace Cole who was released by Chelsea after having a mediocre season. Even though Azpilicueta is more than capable of performing on the left side of the pitch, Mourinho will want to use the Spaniard on the right where he first made a name for himself.

The Brazilian is seen as the perfect player to fill in the empty spot which remains after Cole’s departure. Valued at £13million, Luis looks like a real bargain. He has a lot of experience, and he looks fit for taking on the Premier League. Hopefully for the Blues, the pressure he exerts to help him be allowed to leave will force Atletico to agree with a transfer.
