Filipe Luis Close To Unexpected Return To Atletico

Chelsea’s recently signed left-back has had a hard time adapting to the Premier League. Despite being seen as a perfect solution for the Blues’ defense, the Brazilian has failed to impress and is now keen on going back to Atletico. According to Metro, the 29 year old has revealed his desire to reboot his career which has been going down since moving to London. Seen as one of the best defenders in the world at points last season, especially after being one of the permanent members of the Spanish side which won the La Liga, Luis was expected to allow Azpiliqueta to finally play on the right side where he belongs. Unfortunately, the Brazilian left-back was not up to the task and has barely made a few appearances for Mourinho’s squad.

Luis is preparing for a tough summer considering the fact that he did not leave Atletico on the best of terms. He refused a contract renewal and pushed for a move to Chelsea which was made as a last minute deal. It was not a move to be appreciated especially by Diego Simeone who wished the Brazilian had wanted to remain in Spain.

The rumors that Luis is looking to patch things up with Simeone came from Miranda who apparently spoke with the Brazilian about his future. The 29 year old will have to make some complicated decisions as it is very unlikely he will get to return to Atletico. He would also get a decrease in salary which was one of the main reasons for him leaving Spain.
