Ferguson Unhappy With Rafael’s Dismissal Against Chelsea

Chelsea are three fixtures away from finishing in the Premier League top three which in turn means they will gain automatic access to the Champions League group stages. Benitez looked quite happy after his team won against Manchester United and said that it is an amazing morale boost before their confrontation with Tottenham, which is the most important of their last three matches.

The Blues are now three points ahead of the Spurs and have a one point advantage over Arsenal. The Gunners have only two matches left to play so Chelsea have a game in hand over them.

Chelsea’s match against United was won by Benitez’ team who put in a great effort to take three important points from the Premier League winners. The entire match was pretty balanced, but both teams lacked composure. It was obvious that Chelsea have had a tough and very long season that really left a mark and that United’s players have already started to think about their vacation period.

There were a few key moments that can be considered worth mentioning from the match. Several of those moments involved Cech, who managed an amazing performance. He kept van Persie from scoring on a few good occasions and had some other good interventions all throughout the game. Mata was the one who delivered a late goal which won Chelsea the match. He was helped by Manchester United’s Phil Jones, who deflected the Spaniard’s shot.

According to SkySports, after the match, Benitez spoke about the fact that even if it was a great away win against the strongest team in the Premier League they still have to focus on what is to come. Sir Alex Ferguson was more concerned with the fact that the match ended with a dismissal because Rafael received a red card. It was quite the awkward moment considering the fact that Luiz, who was apparently hit by his opponent, started laughing while rolling on the grass. Man United’s manager spoke about how foreign players tend to exaggerate and how they manage to fool referees just as Luiz did with Webb. He also said that he trust Webb’s judgment and that he probably did not see what exactly happened.

Chelsea finished with 3 wins, 1 loss and 1 draw against United and can now look forward to the Spurs match knowing that all they need to do is get 6 points from the next 3 league matches, however they do it, to guarantee Champions League football next season.
