Federico Chiesa Speaks Out On Possible Transfer Amid Links To Chelsea And United

Fiorentina winger Federico Chiesa says he is not in talks about leaving the Viola. The Italian international has been linked with the likes of Chelsea, Manchester United, Juventus and Inter Milan in recent months, but the player has said he is focused on playing for his current club:

“There are no negotiations, there is Fiorentina. I do not have an agent, so I speak to the club and my father is always by my side. He is like my personal assistant!”

“We never even considered hiring an agent, but I don’t know if that will continue in future. The rumour linking me with Francesco Totti’s agency was fake news and he was the first to contact the club to clarify that.”

“I’ve spoken so much to the President, Joe Barone and Daniele Pradè over the last year, but I am concentrated only on the present. I focus on working every day, achieving immediate objectives.”

Chiesa is a highly sought after player with the 22-year-old having scored seven goals and provided five assists in 26 appearances this campaign.

However, the Italian generally plays off the right-wing and, with Chelsea having already signed Hakim Ziyech from Ajax to fulfil that role, a move to Stamford Bridge seems unlikely.

Saying that, though, the Blues have also been heavily linked with a move for Jadon Sancho so if manager Frank Lampard is looking strengthen his options out wide, Chiesa could well be seen as an alternative to the Borussia Dortmund star.

The Fiorentina winger could be sold this summer, for the right price, according to the club’s owner Rocco Commisso, with reports suggesting he has a £60m valuation.
