FPL: 3 Best BARGAINS In Fantasy Premier League So Far This Season

Malo Gusto playing for Chelsea.

We are currently in the midst of an international break, with no Premier League games being played until November 25 – due to this, it’s a good time to reflect on your FPL teams to look at what is working and what is not.

In this piece, we’ll be looking at three Fantasy Premier League players who are not only good – they’re also very affordable and can slot neatly into any FPL squad.

All of the players on this list are under £5.0 – for comparison, the league’s superstars, such as Erling Haaland and Mohamed Salah, are worth £14.0 and £12.7, respectively.

We’ll be looking at a defender, a goalkeeper and a striker in this list – they play for clubs such as Everton, West Ham United and Sheffield United. Can you guess who they are?

Vitaliy Mykolenko

At the start of the 2023/24 season, Vitaliy Mykolenko was something of a punchline. He was routinely torn apart by opposition wingers and offered little going forward – recently, however, he has transformed into one of the league’s best left backs.

So far this season, Mykolenko has scored two goals, alongside a single assist. This may not sound too impressive, but Everton’s defence is growing tighter with each passing game – meaning he’s much more likely to collect clean sheet bonuses.

All in all, Mykolenko has an FPL price of £4.4, making him one of the cheapest defenders in the game. His price is steadily rising as his performances get better and better – so if you want to add him to your team, act fast.

Alphonse Areola

Many expected Lukasz Fabianski to be deployed between the sticks for West Ham United this season – despite this, it seems clear that he has been usurped by Alphonse Areola.

Generally, goalkeepers tend to have the lowest points output of any position in FPL, so you don’t want to spend too much on them. With this in mind, Areola is an ideal pick.

Areola is the cheapest player in this list with an FPL price of £4.3. He’s also one of the most inexpensive goalkeepers you can get – despite accumulating more points than Ederson, David Raya and Jordan Pickford.

Cameron Archer

This may be an odd inclusion to some. Sheffield United have struggled manfully this season, with relegation looking inevitable – nevertheless, that doesn’t mean all of their players are worthless on FPL.

Cameron Archer, for example, is brilliant. He had an excellent season on loan at Middlesbrough in the Championship this season and he is translating his performances into the Premier League seamlessly.

So far this season, Archer has scored two goals, alongside a single assist – at a price of just £4.6, which is very cheap for a striker, he may be the best bargain on this list.
