Falcao Close To Stamford Bridge AGAIN

Falcao Close To Stamford Bridge AGAIN

All signs point to the fact that Falcao will leave Monaco and probably join Chelsea. The Blues should have been his first choice during the summer, but money apparently mattered more at that particular moment. When signing with Monaco, the Colombian striker even stated it was his dream to perform for the French side. After 13 weeks spent playing for the former Champions League finalists, the 27 year old forward looks keen on moving on, probably during the January transfer period. He is currently Ligue 1’s top scorer with 9 goals and has appeared in all the matches his team has played up to now. Even so if another team is to activate his 53 million pound buyout clause, Porto and Atletico’s former striker may finally have his chance at the Champions League trophy which is missing from his trophy case.

The Colombian has won the UEFA Europa League twice, one UEFA super cup, and several other domestic trophies while playing in Argentina, Portugal and Spain.

Even if 53 million pounds is a serious amount of money, Chelsea seem first in line to pay up and finally bring in a star striker to make the most out of Oscar and Hazard’s assists. The Blues will probably let Demba Ba move to Turkey during the winter, after he received an offer from Besiktas and may also look to sell Torres in order to recover some of the money spent for the Spaniard’s transfer from Liverpool. Eto’o is only a temporary solution so Falcao looks like the perfect player to sign. He will also be able to perform in the Champions League, seeing as his team has not played in the competition this year.

According to Metro, the biggest give-away to the fact that the Colombian will join Chelsea was not Mourinho’s presence in the stands during the friendly between Colombia and Belgium, but after the game Falcao said he would love to play in the Premier League and that he hopes his performance left the Special One with a good impression. The 27 year old looks like the perfect fit for the Blues and a transfer seems inevitable once again.
