Fabregas Ruled Out of Spain’s Squad With Hamstring Injury!

Blues boss Jose Mourinho admitted that he took a gamble in playing Fabregas for the entire 90 minutes in their 2-1 victory over Liverpool on Saturday. The Spain midfielder had a hamstring complaint and is now set to miss Spain’s European qualifier against Belarus as well as the encounter against Germany, according to Sky Sports.

The 27-year-old has been assessed by the Spain medical team, who have ruled him out for the two matches. A statement from the Spanish authorities read: “The Chelsea midfielder has been ruled out for the games against Belarus and Germany following tests and an evaluation of his condition that was carried out this morning by the medical staff of the Spanish national team.”

“The MRI done this morning in the Sanitas Clinic in La Moraleja showed a clear improvement with respect to the one done by his club on Sunday. Although the MRI discards a hamstring tear, the player continues to have discomfort and the medical team considers that his involvement in the next games would not be advisable for his complete recovery.”

The report also states that Fabregas should be expected to be fit for Chelsea’s next Premier League match against West Brom on November 22nd. Great news for the club but not so for the Spanish national team as the club vs country row will rumble in at Chelsea.
