Fabregas Has A Theory On Whether Eden Hazard Will Stay At Chelsea

Monaco midfielder Cesc Fabregas believes Eden Hazard could be staying at Chelsea after the Belgian revealed he has made a decision on his future.

In an interview released earlier this week, Hazard said he has settled on what he wants to do.

Fabregas believes this public admission would suggest he will be signing a new contract at Stamford Bridge:

“If he said that, I think it’s because he’s going to extend his contract with Chelsea. He’s a loyal player. He told me he would never fight with Chelsea to leave. This is his club, he has won so much in England.

“This is just what I think, but I know him well. If he has made a decision, it would never be to let the club down in the middle of the season, he would not do that.”

Hazard’s contract expires in 18 months time, but so far there has been no indication that a new deal will be signed.

There have, though, been reports that Hazard has been given reassurances from Real Madrid that they will bid for him in the summer, and that he will ask to move on.

However, as Fabregas rights points, if he was leaving, he wouldn’t reveal it during the middle of the season when it would cause disruption to the squad. We will likely only know the 28-year-old’s true intentions in the summer.
