Chelsea have agreed a deal with Juventus to sign Gonzalo Higuain on loan, according to reports in Italy.

The 31-year-old will cut short his time at AC Milan to make the move to Stamford Bridge, with some news outlets suggesting the Blues are hopeful that a deal can be done so he can face Arsenal on Saturday.

Fans on Twitter are mostly positive about the Higuain transfer:

Higuain is expected to move to Chelsea on an initial six-month loan deal, but it could be extended by another twelve months if certain conditions are met.

It is also believed that the Blues have the option to sign the player on a permanent basis for €36m (£31.8m); the same amount that Milan were going to pay Juve for the Argentine at the end of the season.

Higuain’s arrival at Chelsea may hasten the departure of Alvaro Morata. The London club are said to be in advanced talks with Atletico Madrid about the 26-year-old. A loan or permanent transfer are both possibilities.
