Eto’o’s Chelsea Days Are Numbered

The Cameroonian striker, Samuel Eto’o was signed from Anzhi Makachkala in the summer by Jose Mourinho, who was keen to reunite with his former charge with whom he shared such a successful partnership in their days at Inter Milan. However, the 32-year old has not been able to replicate the form of his past as he has shown his talent only in patches this season.

His previous outing for Chelsea was a very fruitful one, as he bagged a hat-trick in Chelsea’s 3-1 rout of Manchester United on Sunday. His heroics have made him an instant hit for the moment with the Chelsea faithful, who are keen to see more of him in the coming games. Eto’o was signed for just a year in the summer, and he has now stated that he intends to honor that deal and move on once the current season is over, as reported by the Express.

He has set his sights on a return to Spanish outfit Mallorca, where he has personal memories and wishes to end his career there. He spoke to the media about his future where he revealed, “I’ll always like Barca, but I personally prefer Mallorca.”

“My son has pressured me to finish my career there, as he is from there. I have signed on at Chelsea for the entire season and will try to enjoy it. Later we will see.”

With his exit decided, Chelsea fans will be hoping that Eto’o can continue his dazzling form against United and that they can see the best of him while he is still playing for them.
