Eto’o To Lead Inter Recovery?

Eto’o To Lead Inter Recovery?

According to Metro, Chelsea may lose out on Samuel Eto’o in the summer, as the striker, whose one-year deal expires after the season is reportedly a target for Italian giants Inter Milan.

Eto’o played under Jose Mourinho at Inter in 2009, and the striker was always respected by the Portuguese. When the Cameroon international’s spell at Anzhi Makhachkala came to an end, Mourinho signed the 32-year old on a one-year deal as a temporary solution to the attacking line. Due to Fernando Torres’ inability to find form once again this season, the pressure to score has been on Eto’o, and he has managed to score 6 goals in 17 appearances.

Inter have not been in good form over the past few seasons, and have lost the top four tag. Primarily, this fall in form has been due to key players retiring or leaving the club. Under new manager Walter Mazzarri, the recovery process for the club has begun, and Eto’o could be their first high profile signing. Also, with his contract expiring this summer, Eto’o will be available as a free agent which will ease the financial hurdle that usually involves a big transfer.
