Goalkeeper and Defence
GK – Filip Jorgensen – the Dane is touch and go after sustaining a concussion on international duty but he will be picked if available.
RB – Malo Gusto – Maresca could be tempted to start Reece James in order to build up the captain’s fitness but he needs to manage his workload. Gusto may play at right-back instead.
CB – Tosin Adarabioyo – the 27-year-old struggled somewhat at Anfield so he will be looking to put in a better performance on Thursday.
CB – Benoit Badiashile – the Frenchman will be keen to show that he deserves to start in the Premier League after coming in the second half against Liverpool at the weekend.
LB – Renato Veiga – Maresca could pick Marc Cucurella, who was suspended on Sunday, but he may keep him in reserve for the Newcastle game, with Veiga playing instead.
