Eden Hazard’s father says the player wants to join Real Madrid

Chelsea forward Eden Hazard is without a doubt one of the best players in the world, lighting up the Premier League week in week out with the Blues.

But the Belgian’s future has been in doubt for some time now, even though his current deal doesn’t expire until 2020.

Chelsea have already seen a contract offer rejected by Hazard, and multiple clubs are obviously interested in signing him.

Links with Real Madrid have always been in the forefront of transfer rumours surrounding his future, and these have intensified after a report by Le Soir, who interviewed his father.

His father, Thierry Hazard told Beligan newspaper Le Soir that his son had rejected a contract from Chelsea in order to follow interest from Madrid, whom he supposedly wants to join.

“Eden has refused a contract extension to able, if necessary, to follow interest from Real Madrid,” he said.

However, he also confirmed that there has been “no contact” with the Spanish champions as of yet.

Zinedine Zidane is a known fan of Hazard, and the forward himself recently spoke of his admiration for the Madrid boss.

“Everyone knows the respect I have for Zidane as a player, but also as a manager. He was my idol,” he said.

“I do not know what will happen in my career in the future. However, for sure, to play under Zidane would be a dream.”
