Eden Hazard Is Here To Stay

Chelsea fans will not be saying goodbye to Eden Hazard anytime soon as the Belgium international insists his future is at Stamford Bridge. Despite his poor form and all the temptations coming from PSG and possibly Real Madrid, the winger has his mind set on winning as many trophies with Chelsea as possible. Currently under contract until 2020, the 25-year-old is expected to become a leader and take the armband from Terry who has just one or two more seasons left in him. According to Metro, Hazard recently stated that he is happy playing for the Blues and that even if he is not in the best form, he still tries keeping a smile on his face.

The Biggest challenge for Chelsea is apparently the Champions League. Hazard is fighting to get his team back up there and is convinced that next year, things will be a lot more different than the way they are now.

Hopefully Hazard’s form is just temporary as a 2nd season with similar numbers as this one would definitely make some damage. In 36 games, the winger scored 2 goals and made 8 assists. Both goals were scored in the FA Cup with no goals being scored in the Premier League or the Champions League.

Compared with last year, this year’s Eden Hazard is miles away of becoming the team’s top scorer. To be fair, the team is just making a comeback after a harsh start. Despite the lack of efficiency, the left-winger is indispensable for Chelsea. With the right guidance he will end up competing with Neymar and Bale for the title of world’s best player as predicted by Mourinho. It`s to be seen who will take over from Hiddink, but one thing is for sure, extra attention will be needed to have Hazard bounce back.

“It’s hard to say no to PSG – as with all the teams capable of winning the Champions League” – this is what Hazard said last season but it looks like things have changed. The trust shown by the club when it comes to the winger has made him change his take on a possible transfer. “The future is always the same and that is to win trophies, next season, in two and three years. We are ready for that. We have good players in the team and I hope we can win more trophies. I am always happy here. Even if I play badly, I’m happy. I know this is football but I try to keep a smile on my face every time.”
