Dortmund Talent Rejects ‘Million Dollar Offer’ From Chelsea As He Commits Future To German Club

Borussia Dortmund defender Nnamdi Collins has turned down a “million-dollar offer” from Chelsea in order to stay at the Bundesliga side, according to BILD.

The German tabloid claims that the Blues had been monitoring the 16-year-old for three years, and had offered numerous incentives to the player and his family for him to make the switch to Stamford Bridge.

However, Dortmund have managed to persuade Collins into staying, with a guaranteed pathway to first-team football. The German club will promote him to the Under 19s ahead of next season and will then make him part of the first team for the 2021/22 campaign.

The centre-back was also on Manchester City’s radar as well as Chelsea’s, having attracted the attention of both clubs with his performances at youth level, but the Germany Under 16s captain is now poised to sign a new contract, which will keep him at his current club until 2024.
