Chelsea could well join Barcelona in the race to sign Bayern Munich forward Robert Lewandowski, according to Jan Aage Fjortoft.
The former Middlesbrough striker turned journalist believes the Blues could be a contender for the Polish legend’s signature if they are looking for a replacement for Romelu Lukaku:
Re: Lewandowski
Barcelona the favorite
Don’t rule out Chelsea though…
Could be an outsider in this deal. Assume they can definitely can sign players…and the “Lukaku-situation” moving …

Lewandowski has confirmed that he won’t be signing a new contract with Bayern and, with his current deal expiring at the end of next season, there is a chance that he could be sold during the summer transfer window.
Barcelona remain the favourites to snap up the forward, though, with transfer expert Fabrizio Romano saying that the La Liga club are pushing hard to secure the 33-year-old’s services.
Signing Lewandowski, who has scored an incredible 509 goals in his senior career, would be a huge statement were Chelsea to pull it off, but a lot will depend on the new owners and how they formulate the club’s transfer strategy.
